People often ask me why I became an Acupuncturist?
The answer is I love helping people feel better!
In the late Eighties I started my career in Fashion Design moving into Theatre Costume Design and specializing in creating my own stencils for interiors projects.
Around the Millenium I changed direction working as a freelance artist and started a Body Art company called 'body deco' which culminated in a Mehndi inspired book, 'Body Painting'. Around this time I also became a qualified body piercer.
I have also worked as a Musician in a Jazz Trio playing the double bass.
In Keswick where I grew up, I opened a guest house which was a lovely way to be able to work and look after my four children at home.
I am pretty creative so love playing guitar and tuba to relax.
When seeking help for chronic back pain I discovered Eric Duncan, a pioneer of Acupuncture. His extremely effective treatments gave me the inspiration to learn how to treat people myself.
As a fully qualified and licenced Acupuncturist I am a member of The Acupuncture Society and also offer
Tui-Na (Chinese Medical Massage), Chinese Fire Cupping and will often use these treatments alongside Acupuncture.
Cosmetic Acupuncture and Gua Sha facial rejuvination are other treatments I offer.
I am attuned to the Usui system of Reiki healing which has really helped me on a personal, physical and spiritual level.
In my spare time, alongside being a mother, I really love painting and drawing, dancing, reading and cinema.
I practice Qi Gong every day, which is a great way to develop stamina and flexibility as well as centring the mind.
